UKNIWM – Not Listed
In Glasgow Cathedral OS Map Ref NS 590 650
This memorial consists of a bronze plaque and a case for a Roll of Honour. The Roll of Honour is missing and none of the staff are aware of its existance or what happened to it. The lady I spoke to had worked there for several years and had never seen it.

I have reported the Roll of Honour to War Memorials Trust as a memorial 'at risk'. |

The Colonel at the RHF Museum will be contacting the SNWM to arrange for a replacement Roll of Honour for this memorial.
I have suggested a rededication service might be a good idea - I'll keep you all posted. Paul, if there is one I'll make sure you get an invite. Sandy asked me to pass on their thanks for pointing this out to them. |

Thanks David, would be nice to know what the original was like, a hand-written bound volume of some kind presumably.

Maybe not, the Cameronians roll in the cathedral is a printed volume. |

Just received the following info from the War Memorials Trust:
"I have been looking into the lost roll of honour from Glasgow Cathedral and am pleased to say that I have managed to track this down!
Having spoken with the Regimental Secretary at the Royal Highlander Fusiliers Museum I am pleased to confirm that this roll of honour is in their care. They have advised that they have their own copy which is on display and that the Cathedral copies are held within their library and can be used for reference."
I must say that I am somewhat surprised that an empty case is preferred to one containing a roll of honour which is in store! At least we now know where it is.
Regards

Good to see it exists but as you say, why not on display? Unless it is fragile from damage I don't see why not to have it there.
