Kirkconnel War Memorial http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=809 has been vandalised on Armistice day. The memorial was daubed with paint which was partly cleaned by the police patrol who found it and the cleaning job was completed by the council. Great initiative by the police IMHO.

Now I know how many of us would like to deal with the culprits so I don't think we need to repeat that side of it. So how about the vandals being made to explain their actions face to face with the widows and bereaved parents by way of restitution?

Absolutely, they could have left it for the council to clean.

That is great news, but I cannot really understand why the BBC would refer to the culprit, sorry - alleged culprit, as Mr Baille.
