Troon Portland Parish Church, 2 St. Meddans Street, Troon KA10 6JU

OS Grid Ref: NS 322308



Opened in 1914 as a United Free Church designed by H E Clifford & Lunan. The stained glass chancel window was donated in 1920 as a war memorial by Mr A F Steven. www.troonportlandchurch.org.uk

The WW1 Memorial consists of a plaque and a stained glass window.



The left hand stained glass window is inscribed as follows:
JUSTICE
Their Name Liveth

The second window is inscribed:
MOTHERHOOD

The centre window is inscribed:
Thanks Be To God Whom Giveth Us The Victory
1914 1918

The fourth window is inscribed:
COMPASSION

The right hand window is inscribed:
FREEDOM
For Evermore



The plaque is inscribed as follows:

1914 1919
TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY
OF THE MEN FROM THIS CONGREGATION
WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR

The light was favourable when I visited, this truly is a magnificent window.

The Roll of Honour is WMR 80645
