Unveiling in 1922, this monument is by Francis William Doyle-Jones. He won commissions for a number of English War memorials, but I think this is his only Scottish one. It bears many similarities with the one he produced for Brighouse in Yorkshire, see

Unveiled on Sunday November the 26th 1922.
The memorial cost £2000 and it's thought approximately 1000 men from Partick & Whiteinch died.

Spelling/style of surnames &c., as publication.

The Glasgow Herald, Wednesday, 1st. August, 1917.
"In Memoriam.
HORNE.-
In proud and loving memory of Private Angus (sic) Leslie Macbeth Horne, Cyclists Coy., beloved and only son of Mr and Mrs A. Horne, who died at Mesopotamia on the 1st August, 1916, aged 19 years.
Faithful unto death. - Inserted by his Father, Mother and Sisters, 26 Wood Street, Partick."

Only mention of 'Angus' is in the Herald as above, but not a newspaper error as it is in the original death intimation from 1916:-
