Hi,

Can anybody with the proper contacts have the CWGC entry for the below man corrected who is on the Kirkcaldy WW1 Memorial:

Name: Charles Stewart
Rank: Private
Service No: S/10281
Date of death: 28th August 1915 aged 24
Regiment: 5th Battalion Cameron Highlanders
Memorial: Le Touret Memorial
Additional notes: Son of the late Mr and Mrs R Stewart of 39 Market Street Kirkcaldy

The CWGC have him commemorated as Chades Stewart.

the SNWM roll lists him as
Pte S/10281 Charles Stewart, born Falkland fife kia 28th Aug 1915 serving with the 5th Cameron Hdrs

The book The Register of the Fife fallen in the gr war 1914-1919 Volume 1 kirkcaldy and dysart fallen by E and J Klak , (202 ) has
STEWART , CHARLES G, . pte S/10281 , , cameron hdrs , 5th Bn, brother of robert stewart , kia 28th Aug 1915 aged 24, 39 market street kirkcaldy , and grave details and listed kirkcaldy war memorial and soldiers died index info too

There is a section on the CWGC Website (or at least there used to be) where you can suggest amendments. It might be part of the "contact us" page.

I think you can upload documentation to support your submission too.

Happy New Year Alex!

This looks like a scanning error. If you scroll down his CWGC page to Grave Registration his entry shows his name as Charles.
If you let the CWGC folks know via the Contact Us page they should correct his database entry without any hassle.
