UKNIWM - not on
The church is situated in Lauriston Street, Edinburgh. Behind a pieta at the rear of the church are 3 panels listing those of the parish who served in WW1. 2 panels have been added at the rear listing those who served in WW2 and Korean War. It is a Roll of Honour. Round the top of the panels is the line "So these have loved us all unto the end"

Due to bad light within church and one of the panels being behind the pieta I have been unable to get all the names. As it is a Roll of Honour does anyone think all the names should be listed? If so, I will try next time I am across.

Incidentally the line at the top comes from Summer In England(!) 1914 by Alice Meynell.
Who said 'No man hath greater love than this,
To die to serve his friend'?
So these have loved us all unto the end.
Chide thou no more, O thou unsacrificed!
The soldier dying dies upon a kiss,
The very kiss of Christ.

Hi John

Although some members are particularly interested in those who died, others (including family history researchers) are also interested in those who survived so it would be good if all the names were available. Transcribing is quite a chore for larger memorials but perhaps a combination of a few photos and transcription of those that the camera cannot reach? I think that, even if incomplete, any readable photos or transcriptions will add to the value of the posting.
