Bonnington Church War Memorial
Location: North Leith Parish Church
This memorial window was originally installed in Bonnington Church to commemorate those who died during the Second World War.
It is now located in North Leith Parish Church. Bonnington merged with NLPC in 1968 as the North Leith and Bonnington PC until 1982 when it merged with St Ninian's and reverted to NLPC. The former Bonnington Church which stood at the north end of Summerside Stree (opposite the bowling green) was demolished to make way for flats. It's quite obvious which flats they are because everything else in the area is a lot older.
Thanks to Andrew Grant for providing the photograph and transcription of the names.
Names on the bottom panel of the window are
James Pirie
Alexander Scott
Ian C Kirkland
Ian C Walker
Andrew Woodburn
Charles W. Dunnet
Mathew H. W. Fraser
James E Marshall
