Sacred to the proud memory of Frank Coventry Dudfield Davidson Lieutenant The King's Own Regiment born 1874 killed 23rd February 1900 fighting for the Relief of Ladysmith and of Christopher Edmund Grant Davidson, Captain, The Buffs born 1886 killed 13th October 1915 at Loos France, sons of Lieut Col Christopher Middlemass Davidson M.V.O, His Majesty's Body Guard and Grandsons of Henry Marshall Davidson of this Burgh.

DAVIDSON - Lieutenant Francis Coventry Dudfield - Royal Lancaster Regt.
Wounded on the Tugela. Died 23rd Feb. 1900. Aged 25. Son of Lieut-Colonel C.M. Davidson, of His Majesty's Body Guard (ex-4th King's Own Regt. and Royal Munster Fusiliers), of Dover. Born August 1874.
