WMR 71604
OS Map Ref NX 97133 76272

The memorial is in Greyfriars church, Dumfries. It was the Regimental church for KOSB and also contains laid-up colours.

CAPTAIN ARTHUR DAVID RIPLEY POTT, is listed on the above memorial though his name has badly faded.

His name also appears on the Hawick Boer War Memorial:

It's not faded if you get to see it in person - the perils of photographing red lettering on brass. I had the same trouble with memorials in St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh. It's not so often that someone manages to link someone from a Boer war memorial though, so well done.

Along with all of the memorials in this church, its future is uncertain and it must therefore be considered at risk.

This is perhaps a slightly better photo.
