I hear from Major (Retd) Ronnie Proctor ,MBE the Black Watch that Recently the MEMUS war memorial was moved into CORTACHY CHURCH .
Two out of the three casualties died of the Flu . One in Edinburgh and the other in Cambridge . Neither had served abroad or been in action in the war .

cant see any entry for Memus or Cortachy church . This Cortachy church is beside the entrance gates of Cortachy Castle, home of the Earl of Airlie

Donald landed at Liverpool on 8 January 1918 but died of spinal meningitis in the Military Isolation Hospital at Tidworth in Wiltshire.

Can't trace Craig on CWGC nor SNWM but the Forfar Dispatch of 1 April 1920 has:

Mr James Herbert Craig, the youngest son of the respected minister of Memus, died last week in Bedford after four months' illness at the age of 22. Until recently he was a Lieutenant in the Scottish Horse. He was a bright and promising journalist, following in the footsteps of his well-known sister, Elizabeth Craig.

The dates on the memorial do say 1914-1920

I wonder what his illness was? Death in April, contracted in late 1919 or early 2020.
