While firming up on the Persie & Glenshee Memorial, which has two men also listed at Portree, Skye, I found the following reference;

Yes I saw them this summer (August 2008)but they were in a display about the Wars at Shawbost, Isle of Lewis, and not offered for sale.

It is a shame that proper national funding is not available for items such as these in order that they would appear properly bound and advertised.

I had been unaware of there existence.

A 'laddie' called Murdo Beaton was one of the contacts - he was speaking about War Memorials in Northern France.

This loose leaf Roll of Honour covers the period of circa 1900 to the mid 1950s I recall .

There is one copy of the Roll of Honour in the PORTREE LIBRARY that moved from the town centre area of Portree to the recently built PORTREE HIGH SCHOOL last summer time (2008) . The other copy is held at the Library in INVERNESS .

Graham Ross lives on Skye and most of the information was taken from the Oban Times as that was the newspaper for Skye and Lochalsh at that time .
