I've just joined hoping to get an answer to a family photo puzzle that's stumped us for years now. I've posted the link to the picture in the unknown memorials section.
I'm in Kirkcudbrightshire so if anyone wants to know anything about a memorial there then I can go and look - work hours allowing of course! |

Welcome to the forum. By chance I recognised the memorial you posted about because it was an unsusual design. If it had been a simple celtic cross or obelisk I don't think it would have been so easy! With the Roll-of-Honour website transcription I hope you'll now be able to find out why your family had a photo of it.
I also hope you can return to the forum now and again if there is anything to pass on about your local memorials.
Regards
Adam |

Hello and welcome.
Kirkudbrightshire is a lovely area but I have only a limited knowledge of the memorials there.
I hope that you can put me right on that score. _________________

I walk past Dalbeattie memorial every day on my way to work. A description has been posted in the Dumfries and Galloway section. Photos will be added asap. Don't expect this wealth of physical detail for others I post though - I just struck it lucky in the old newspapers and as Dalbeattie's granite industry was world famous, it's hardly surprising that the original article was so technical! |
