The memorial is within the church which is situated to the east of the pier, beside the school.

Aged 51! Never heard of 30th Battalion, Gordon Highlanders!
Able Seaman
CLUNESS, WILLIAM
Died 12/04/1947
Aged 41
S.S. The Viceroy (Glasgow)
Merchant Navy
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Cluness, of Uyeasound, Zetland.
The only reference I can find is in Dutch!
I think it says that the SS The Viceroy hit a mine when sailing from Antwerp to Aberdeen.
https://wrecksite.eu/wreck.aspx?1109
_________________ Ken |

I have just seen a facebook post from the Presbytery of Shetland which shows that the memorial is now at St John's Church, Baltasound |
