There are three memorial plaques and two rolls of honour in the lobby of this building. I was there this morning with my kids for a Fringe show and I didn't have my camera with me.

Opened by HRH PRINCESS MARY on 18 Mar 1927 at a cost of about £17,000.

UKNIWM Refs (duplicate - which I will report) 53584 and 57409

The club was the idea of a Royal Scots officer, Colonel The Lord Henry Scott, the younger son of the Duke of Buccleuch.

In 1996 a major refurbushment was carried out including development of the bedrooms, meeting rooms and public areas. Basement areas were converted from the old Flying Scot Health Club and leased to Fitness First as a new fitness club.

The building has two entrances, the one photographed is the members entrance. The visitors entrance (and reception) is to the right.

The building contains the following memorials which I will post separately.

WW2 Roll of honour - UKNIWM 57410
WW2 Plaque - UKNIWM 53591
Canadian Comrades Plaque - UKNIWM 53592
WW1 Roll of honour - not listed on UKNIWM
WW1 Plaque - not listed on UKNIWM
Laid up colours - not listed on UKNIWM
Between wars and post war plaque - not listed on UKNIWM

all above in members entrance hall

Also there is a further plaque in the Scott room which will be outside the scope of UKNIWM but I will post it on the project.
