Apologies if this has already been posted or if it's in the wrong section but I was scratching my head over whether a 'pre-war' memorial even had a place here.

Sufficiently curious to post it up and take whatever flak/praise I deserve...

It's near Ballater where the Glen Muick road leaves the B976 South Deeside road at Bridgend Cottages OS ref NO 366 947

It mentions soldiers and the fact that they died in war so undoubtedly a war memorial. I can't comment on whether it has been posted already, but I don't recall it.

It can hardly be described as a war memorial since it principally commemorates a meeting at Glenmuick and relates that Lt. Col. Dowman and un-named others died.
It should be listed as individual or other. It is certainly not a civic memorial. Mod please move.

This is a war memorial commemorating Gordon Highlanders who died in the Boer War.

I have moved it to the Regiments & Units section.
