Two items from the Berwickshire News
14/3/1916 p.7 an application for exemption for Robert Pearson of Ecclaw, Cockburnspath an East District Road Roller Assistant was refused.
20/8/1918 p.3
Officially missing, Aug. 26, 1917. now presumed to have died on or after that date. Pte. Robert Pearson, 1918348. 10 Gordon Highlanders Though death divides fond memory clings. (From his loving Sisters, Ellen and Marion Pearson, Ecclaw Farm,, Cockburnspath.

He is not listed on CWGC nor on SDGW but there is a Soldiers Effects record for a Robert Pearson, Private (291524) Gordon Highlanders. Died 26 Aug 1917. Legatees are Ellen and Marion and brother Thomas.

There is also a Pension Card for Robert Pearson, Private (291524) 8/10 Gordon Highlanders. Died 26 Aug 1917.

In 1901 Stenton East Lothian Marion 60 Ellen 38 Marion 28 Thomas 26 Robert 20 Charles 8
1911 at Ecclaw Farm Marion widow 71 Ellen 46 Marion 39 Robert 31 Charles 18.

I have sent this on to Terry at IFTC.
