Pender does not seem to be listed on any Wigtownshire Memorial but his brother is buried in Whithorn. (page 4) of

He is listed on the Kilmorich Parish Memorial in Cairndow, Argyll.

He is also commemorated on 2 candlesticks at St Mary Magdalene Church, Prudhoe, Northumberland, WMR 34221.
The reason is that, before enlisting, he had worked for some time as an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer at Elswick Ordnance Works, Northumberland, and had boarded at 30 West Parade, Elswick.
The Daily Record newspaper 25 March 1915 refers.
