Delboy,

I note this memorial is now located in Arbroath West Church. The West Church website states;

1920 War Memorial to the Great War Dedicated in the sanctuary.

Did you get any pics of the West Church congregation memorials?

This I Believe is it Paul.

The minister was the one who showed me which memorials came from which now closed churches. They are up in their own threads already.

Cheers,
Derek.

DelBoy,

Thanks. I dug around and saw that Arbroath West was formerly St. Margaret's which you have posted and mention in the thread. These church name changes and mergers are confusing.

I noted that Ladyloan Parish Church united with the former Ladyloan Free Church in 1941, the former building being demolished.
Do we have any definite information that would tell us from which congregation this plaque is from?

Hmm, no.

But I can check newspaper reports next time I'm in the Library. My info as to what memorial came from what church was from the minister. But he just said that it came from the Ladyloan church that was most recently demolished.

If I find something I'll let you know.

Derek.

Cheers Derek,

A newspaper report may tell us one way or another. AK Bell in Perth have an index to some of their newspapers which refer to various war memorials. Perhaps the library at Arbroath have also done this.
