A very pleasing sculpture in Princes Street Gardens - a life-sized memorial to the bear who went into action with the Poles in WWII and was said to carry artillery shells.

I haven't had a chance to visit this memorial yet. The weather has been atrocious here recently but it looks like it will be well worth the effort. It looks like there is more about his life on the panel behind the statue too.
Thanks

It has not been set upon a plinth or placed behind railings so it is very accessible to children. Wojtek's nose already looks rather shiny. I hope it will become as famous as Greyfriar's Bobby. |

It looks like it has been designed to make it accessible for climbing on or standing beside for photos. That's interesting about the nose.
Thanks
