MEMORIAL SERVICE AT FRASERBURGH. 47 BRETHREN WHO FELL. A joint memorial was held Parish Church on Sunday forenoon under the auspices of the two Masonic lodges and four friendly society lodges the town to the memory brethren who fefl in the war. There a large muster of the various Orders, particularly oif Freemasons. The procession was formed at the Central School, and, headed by the Fraserburgh Pipe Band marched Charlotte Street and High Street to the church. For a quarter of an hour before the service ail the church bells tolled funeral knell. The congregation numbered about 1200, whom 500 ware regalia. The service was conducted by five ministers of the town. After "The Lord's my Shepherd 5 ' bad been sung, the Hot. W. Baptist Church, offered prayer, and the Rev. Taylor, South U.F. Church, read the Old Testament lesson —Isaiah nsv. The congregation sang "O God, our ages past," Mr 'Ikyior read the New Testament xxi~, 23, xxii., 5. and the Rev. G. Lightfoot, Episcopal Church, prayed for the nation, those who were suffering, the wounded, and those who had laid down their lives in the war. The Rev. Thomas Johnstone, Congregational Churoh, gave an appropriate address. said that in a sense what we were rejoicing in at the present time was not simply a great war fought and a great victory won; it was a redemption bought for us the blood of the men who died our behalf. The n»en of whom they were thinking that day died to make us free, and it was our duty strive to the world better than the past. The dead the most sacred of all rights to demand that our lives should dedicated carry out for which they suffered and died must give ourselves some way to the service of our country, and bring the devotion of our hearts and the labour of oar make the world a better place to live The Rev. Fraserburgh Lodge of Freemasons:Brethren Charles Gordon French and George Mellis Hendry. Leaf Lodge Free Gardeners;— Brethren James Noble, William Greig, Peter Rourke, Wffiiam Wisiey, John Rourke, George McDonald- Lodge of Oddfellows: —Brethren John Mackie, George G. Anderson, Andrew A. Buchan, Andrew Pringle. Faithlie Lodge Shepherds:—Brethren Wm. Sutherland, Peter J. Sim, James Barron, Stewart M'Lagan, William M. Mackie. James Thomson. James G. S. Milne. Andrew Noble, James Stephen, Alexander H. Watt, John Smith. Court Saltoun of Foresters - John Burnett, Peter Geddes. Alfred Crawford. David Dundas, Alexander Urquhart. As the congregation dispersed and the societies were being ?' a a band on Satoun Square o' the Many hundreds people lined the thoroughfares the precession the Central School via Broad Street, Victoria Street, Saltoun Place, and Commerce Street.
