I was really not sure where to post this, so I've put it here.
I was trying to track down if a name was on the War Memorial for Wemyss Bay and if he was there in 1911.
It was a while before I realised that the memorial at the railway station/ferry terminal is for "the men of Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay" and that while Skelmorlie was in Ayrshire, Wemyss Bay was in Renfrewshire.
The memorial is in both county sections on the Project but there is no indication that it is one and the same memorial.
So to the question, is this a one of, or are there other memorials which cover two individual communities?
ps the man I was looking for is on the memorial but he wasn't there in 1911, which is just as well as I still don't know which county census he would have been on

| Blairgowrie & Rattray. Two separate parishes divided by the River Ericht but so closely connected they decided on one memorial - in the Wellmeadow. |

Like Anwoth and Girthon Parishes in Gatehouse of Fleet, Mark, but both in the same county, so no prize

Closer to home, in WW1 there was Dumfries (Dumfriesshire) and Maxwelltown (Stewartry) but for WW2 they are all commemorated on the Dumfries memorial.

Sorry mate, still no prize 
The individual WW1 memorials were for distinct areas, Dumfries Burgh and Maxwelltown Burgh & Troqueer Parish. Both memorials do have a few men from the other community.
The burghs merged in 1929 so the memorial in Dumfries became the place for WW2 names but I'm not at all sure when the county boundary was moved from the River Nith. I have asked but never did get an answer

I kind of knew that but I thought it worth a mention.
My understanding is that the burghs merged sometime in the 1920s but whether they moved the old county boundary or not, I don't know.
