Hi Ian,
If you have photos and info feel free to post them in a new thread if we don't already have the memorial recorded.
If it's for the Merchant Marine it would probably go in the "Regiment and Unit" section in Glasgow.
If you need any help posting the memorial here please let me know and I'll try and assist you. |

Glasgow, Maryhill, Immaculate Conception Church
has a memorial.
"Take the photograph of a weathered and weed-bound memorial in the grounds of the Immaculate Conception Church in Maryhill Road. This carved stone honours Father Michael Gordon, an army chaplain killed when a shell hit his billet at Coxyde in Belgium in August 1917. It bears the inscription D.O.M. - Deo Optimo Maximo - "to the greatest and best God"."

There are both WW1 and WW2 memorial plaques in the Mitchell Library, Glasgow. Do you have them listed? The article appeared in The Journal of the Glasgow & West of Scotland Family History Society, March 2011, and the author goes on to describe her research into the 6 names.

I chanced upon a longish newspaper article from late 1914 about the visit of a Gatehouse minister to Stobhill hospital. If anyone would like a copy of the article, please PM me with an email address to send it.
