I have no idea if the church still goes under the same name or is even still standing.

I am going to visit Partick Trinity Church( as its now known after several unions) and get photographs of the War Memorials that they have. Not sure when the visit will be but will post photographs asap afterwards.
I have also posted this in the "book" section where mention was made of the memorial. |

Harper Memorial Baptist Church, Craigiehall St, Plantation.
(Glasgow Herald 27th March 1922)
"At the forenoon service of the Harper Memorial Baptist Church, Craigiehall Street, Plantation, Glasgow, yesterday and artistic oak mounted brass mural tablet to the memory of 48 young men associated with the church who laid down their lives in the Great War was unveiled by Mrs Ashby, wife of the minister. The service was conducted by the Rev. John Dick, Leven, former minister of the congregation, who preached from the text, "Of whom the world is not worthy"."

I notice that the NLS have a new website for the Post Office Directories. I haven't checked the Glasgow 1912 one but if it is like the others it should have a list of all the churches of all denominations and their locations.
It won't help identify where they are now but it should be a good starting place for finding out what was there during the First World War.
This might be especially useful if they were UF churches and are still used as Church of Scotland churches.
Thanks

From a rootsweb posting "The Highlanders Institute which is a few minutes' walk from Charing Cross and opposite the eastern gate of Kelvingrove Park is now an Islamic Centre and has been for many years. From memory it shut in the 1970s due to lack of use."

I've had some information that Partick South Church in Dumbarton Road has memorials from at least five other churches, but that the memorials themselves might be buried under the chancel?
Apparently there is a cafe attached to the church which contains photographs of these memorials.
One for further investigation, I think. |

This memorial is http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=6414 - I was advised that Glasgow Cathedral is the informal title and that St Mungo's High Kirk is the correct title so I posted it as such, but happy for that to be reviewed as part of the general review on memorial titles going on.

According to something I saw from WMT
"Second World War memorial cross in Cardonald Cemetery on Mosspark Boulevard, Glasgow, which commemorates the Cardonald Merchant Marines"
I don't think we have this on the project or on a list anywhere
