Just seen this on Facebook.

Important service announcement for the ScotlandsPeople website
We are writing to let you know that the ScotlandsPeople website will be unavailable from Wednesday 7 September 2016 at 23.59 (BST). This is due to essential planned work which is taking place over this time. The work is expected to be completed and service resumed by Monday 12 September 2016. Please check Facebook or Twitter for updates.
Customers visiting The ScotlandsPeople Centre in Edinburgh or using one of the local family history centres (www.nrscotland.gov.uk/research/local-family-history-centres) will be able to access records as normal on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 September 2016.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and thank you for your patience.
The team at ScotlandsPeople.

Update on SP website

Last month we contacted customers to let them know that our website would be unavailable from Wednesday 7 September 2016 until Monday 12 September 2016. This site downtime has now been postponed to a future date. We will confirm the new dates as soon as possible.
We would like to thank you for your continued patience as we work towards launching a new ScotlandsPeople website. You will be pleased to note that once the new site is launched, all of your credits and saved images from our existing site will be available and accessible.

Sandra

Sandra - Thanks for keeping an eye on this developing (or not) story.
I get the feeling that I'll be amazed if any of the existing credits, searches or images survive the "improvement" but I hope to be surprised Rolling Eyes

I'm only seeing six "saved searches", all from 2007.

I'm missing a lot of previous searches!

I can't even log in!

Still good value I suppose but the rise in prices seem a bit sneaky.

Removing the need to use credits to view searches would have been handy a month ago when I used about sixty credits just to view some searches!

I've just noticed that there is a problem in marriage searches if you use both partners' surnames.
SP has a note:
Searching
Statutory and church registers of marriages - spouse's name
There is a defect with the spouse's name field and this is under investigation. Please do not use this field in searching or filtering for the time being
.

This is the latest post (of many!!) on Facebook regarding the new website:

Hi everyone. We've been listening to your feedback on the new website and we're looking into the issues that you've told us about. Take a look at the updated 'Known Technical Issues' for full information. https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/t…/known-technical-issues

There are a lot of unhappy bunnies out there (and that's only the ones who vent on Facebook!)

Just noticed that on some searches, if I only use the county to filter the results, I get who I'm after but if I add the parish name to the filter, the name disappears/doesn't appear.
It doesn't apply to all County/Parish combinatiions.
I've been in touch with SP and they are aware of the problem. See
https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/content/what-we-are-working-on

So if you cannot find someone, it might not be you Rolling Eyes

Strange bug to have, but as long as I can search for who I want that's all that matters.

Thanks for the heads up, Ken.
