Was curious to know what happened to the Glenbuck memorial. I can see now it was moved to the Muirkirk Gateway.

Frank White – age 20 – Private (295387) 12th (Ayr and Lanark Yeomanry) Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers. Formerly Private (2369) 1/1st Ayrshire Yeomanry. (Source:Medal Roll/Card)
Frank and his family lived for a while in Holywood, Dumfriesshire and Frank attended Dumfries Academy before moving to Ayr Academy. He was a clerk with Dewar & Son, auctioneers in Ayr when he enlisted in 1914. He had been in Egypt and Palestine for about 2 years when he died in the 231st Field Ambulance. (Source:D&G Standard 17/11/1917 p.5 and Army Registers of Soldiers effects)
Born 1896 in Muirkirk, Ayrshire – as Francis White. (Source:CWGC, SNWM and GRoS – Birth Register)
Son of the late Frank White of Muirkirk and of Lizzie (Hamilton) White of Holywood Village, Dumfriesshire and of 5 Wrightfield Cottages, Alloway, Ayrshire.

Died of Wounds on 6 November 1917 and buried in Beersheba War Cemetery, Palestine.

Sergt. John Hume R.S.F.

I think that this is the man named on the Dunscore Parish War Memorial in Dumfriesshire as:

HUGH HUME, SERGT. R.S.F.
Hugh Hume – age 23 – Sergeant (11343) 6th/7th Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers.
Hugh had worked with a baker in Maxwelltown before he left Dumfries. He was a footman to the Baird family at Wellwood House, Muirkirk, Ayrshire when he enlisted. He landed with the 6th RSF at Boulogne in May 1915. He was wounded near Delville Wood on the Somme and evacuated to hospital in Tranmere, Birkenhead in August 1916.
Born 1895 in Dumfries as Hugh Robert Hume. Son of the late Isabella Johnstone (Hogg) Hume (died 1908 in Dumfries) and of George Hume of Woodhead Cottage in Dunscore Village and of Ruthwell, Dumfriesshire.
Missing in Action on 18 April 1918 and named on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium.

Named on the Tranent War Memorial in East Lothian as:

CAMPBELL, ROBERT
Robert Campbell – age 37 – Private (7873) 1st Battalion, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)
Robert was an iron worker living in Wishaw, Lanarkshire when he married in 1913. As a reservist we was recalled to his regiment and joined the 1st Black Watch in France in late August 1914. Initially thought to be a prisoner of war, he was later officially reported as β€œmissing”.
(Source: Scotsman 20/7/1915 p.9 and Medal Roll/Card)
Born 1878 in Muirkirk, Ayrshire. Son of the late Hugh Campbell (died 1886) and of Jean (Sharp) Campbell of Muirkirk. Husband of Jemima (Martin) Campbell of Tranent who he married in 1913 in Tranent.
Missing in Action on 21 June 1915 and named on the Le Touret Memorial, France.
