Here is some info I've cobbled together from various sources. SNWM, the website found by malcolm and another one on Malaysian War Graves http://www.nmbva.co.uk/cemeteries_where_they_are_buried.htm.

These are surnames beginning A & B only. I'll hopefully finish it from C - Z but I've still got my war memorial lists to finish, my Sutherland data to put on the forum and I've still some photos to post so it may be a while before I can finish it.

I will probably post the whole A-Z list in it's own topic. If any memorials these men are listed on are posted I can update this list with a link.

Flight Lieutenant Birrell is commemorated on the Falkland war memorial on Brunton Green. He was actually born in New Jersey, USA not Auchtermuchty, but his parents lived in Auchtermuchty from c1951. There is a family headstone in Falkland cemetery on which David is commemorated.

He had volunteered in 1940 and extended his RAF service in 1946. In 1949 he was posted to RAF Hong, he was injured in a plane accident and died in Changhi Hospital, Singapore.
