He wasn't born on Bute but on the nearby Cowal Peninsula. He may be the same man? This is the man who will be listed on the Kingarth War Memorial but I don't think he is the Cameron Highlander. S/10635 Private James Nuttall Cameron Highlanders. I have his MIC and fortunately his service record survives with a link to Rothesay. It even has a date of death just 18th instead of 16th June. He had a SWB too. Discharged as unfit due to military service.
