It had to happen, trying to find if John Smith, RAPC is listed on a memorial in Scotland. Born in Hamilton (not on Hamilton War Memorial) and died on the Lancastria.

He's not on any of the Hamilton churches we have recorded, nor is he on the memorial for Hamilton Grammar School.

Thanks, I am assuming that he left Scotland years before and there were no family left to put his name forward.

Thanks - hadn't checked that, not that used to WW2 research. I was working from an RAPC ROH published in 1946 (I think) and cross referencing it with losses from the Lancastria.

Odd that he is not listed on Hamilton WM then.
