I don't think this is on the Project????
The Glasgow and South-Western Railway Company commissioned a memorial for the Terminus at St. Enoch's in Glasgow.

I've heard that there may have been one in Dumfries but I'm still looking.

Anyone know anything about either????

The St Enoch one is now in Ayr

I don't know about the Dumfries one, unless it was perhaps a joint station one?

Thanks

There's an old thread on Railway memorials here:

No mention of a Dumfries memorial I'm afraid.

Thanks

It's possible Dumfries was run as a joint station as it was on a G&SWR mainline but had a branch line to Lockerbie run by the Caledonian Railway. This branch line linked to the CR's main line from Glasgow to Carlisle.

Otherwise I don't see there being a station memorial for Dumfries as the men would be on the G&SWR memorial at Ayr.

I'll add I'm in no way an expert on pre-1923 (or even post 1923) Scottish railways.

Thanks

Adam
