This was a Billiard table dedicated in memory of brothers James and William Hewitt who died within a few days of each other in October 1914.
The original location of the billiard table is not known but when it was scrapped, a commemorative plaque was removed and is now in private hands in Aberdour.
The plaque and accompanying photos and biographical details were displayed in a local history display in St Fillans Church Hall in Aberdour in August 2014.
The men are also commemorated on the War Memorial in Gatehouse and are also listed on the War Memorials for Dalgety Parish and for Aberdour Parish, both in Fife, and on individual memorials in St Fillan's Church in Aberdour and Whitefoord house, Edinburgh. William is listed on the Edinburgh Academy War Memorial and on the Christ Church War Memorial in Oxford.
