Just a note from previous correspondence.
The name Donald Macaulay was mentioned as being omitted from the Minard Memorial.
His name is noted on the Tower Hill Memorial to the Merchant Navy under the "Garmoyle" (Panel 76) which was sunk on 29th. March 1941.
He was 19 years of age.
Thanks to our God for his sacrifice.

Seems we are still in a state of limbo.
Mr. Mc Neil provided the Argyll and Bute Council with a source of funding and provided an expert assessment of work to be done.
Seems that the Council missed the deadline for the funding and the situation is as it was about fifteen years ago.......nothing done.

There is still no progress on the restoration of the memorial although the
Argyll County Council has been contacted and updated for over a decade and a half, and a source for funding any restoration was given to the Council. By procrastination, or lack of interest, no funding was obtained and the memorial remains in its sorry state. Does it take another war to get the Council off it's comfortable rear end?
