"Deaths on Service.
MARTIN.-
Killed in action on the 4th September, Robert Martin, Lieut. R.F.C., aged 25, beloved husband of M. Eve Martin (nee Rigall) and only son of Mr and Mrs Martin, Hotel, Garelochhead."

Douglas Campbell Young - age 29 - Lieutenant: 4th Lowland (Howitzer) Brigade, 52nd Division, Royal Field Artillery.
Douglas was educated at the Collegiate School, Queen's Park, at Allan Glen's School and the Royal Technical College in Glasgow before he became the Assistant Manager in is father's chemical manufacturing company. He had served with the Dunbartonshire Mounted Rifle Volunteers and was commissioned in October 1914. He was promoted to Lieutenant with the 52nd Division Ammunition Column in Egypt in May 1915 before rejoining the 4th Brigade at Gallipoli where he contracted dysentery. He was evacuated to the 21st General Hospital in Alexandria where he died.
Born 1886 at Blairlogie, Perthshire. Son of Robert and Esther Margaret (Campbell) Young, of Hamilton Drive, Glasgow and of Castlehill, Rockcliffe, Colvend, Kirkcudbrightshire.
Died on Active Service on 18 September 1915 and buried in Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
Also named on the Royal Technical College Roll of Honour and on the Colvend Parish War Memorial.
