Granton War Memorial
Location: In grounds of Granton Parish Church
OS Ref: NT 237 766

I'm not 100% sure if this is the community or a church memorial. I have put it in the civic section until someone says otherwise. There are no Second World War names on this memorial.

This memorial was originally sited at the previous Granton Parish Church (originally a Quoad Sacra parish within Cramond Parish) in Granton Road, just off Granton Square. The church moved premises to a new building in Boswall Parkway in 1936, but it seems the memorial did not move until some years later. Maybe that accounts for the absence of WWII names on that memorial - if it was still on the previous site at the end of that war.

See http://www.grantonhistory.org/churches/churches_18.htm for more information, and a picture of the memorial in its original location.
