Located in St. Andrew's West Church, Upper Bridge Street, Falkirk.

The plaque is located within the area of the Pulpit.

Pte. Watt was a member of the Congregation of Falkirk St. Andrew's United Free Church - he appears on both the Church's Roll of Honour and WW1 Memorial Panel seen on the right of the Pulpit behind the Lectern.

Note the discrepancies in the spelling of his second middle name.

Bio Notes: John Douglas Dixon Watt was born c.1884 and articled to James Strang in Falkirk from 1900 to 1905, remaining with him as an assistant. During that period he attended Falkirk School of Art and the Glasgow School of Architecture under Eugène Bourdon and Charles Gourlay. He passed the qualifying exam in 1909 and was admitted ARIBA on 29 November of that year, his proposers being John Slater, Edward Guy Dawber and George Hubbard, all of London: unusually it seems unlikely that he knew any of them. He was reported missing on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916.
