New Cumnock

The war memorial erected at New Cumnock for the men who fell was on Saturday unveiled by General Pollock M'Call in the Afton Cemetery. The memorial takes the form of a stone casket, and was built by Matthew Muir & Sons, Kilmarnock, from a design by Sir John Burnett. The building is of Auchenheath stone.
