Just in case you are having a Techno-Crisis in using the London Gazette Search function, you'll be glad to know that the site has been "improved" - which means you can now NOT find anything!!!!
The Great War Forum at http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=209176&hl=gazette has some useful ideas on how to use the new site.
My own involves petrol and matches! _________________ Ken |

It has long amazed me how a search engine totally unfit for purpose from day one has been "improved" several times and despite condemnation from every user, it just gets worse and worse.
Now I can't even find entries despite having logged their reference numbers very recently.
The IT consultants must just rub their hands in glee. _________________

Yes, I agree, yet another very poor effort at an 'upgrade', ha, ha.
For example, in LG 1896 Issue 26795, page 6273 was available a few days ago. Now if you click on the drop-down page list of this section, all the missing pages can be noted - 6273, 6287, 6300, 6332, 6337 and 6355. So, 6 out of 91 pages missing (6.5%) from this one small section.
In the famous words of that fantastic Scottish football commentator, David Francey, "Oh, dearie, dearie, me".
