Ran across this report (issued in September 2013)
The Built Heritage of the First World War in Scotland
The report of a project commissioned by Historic Scotland & RCAHMS
at http://www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/built-heritage-ww1.pdf
It's full of interesting "stuff" about air stations, coastal defences, barracks, drill halls, hospitals of all types, etc., etc.
Probably more appropriate to SMRG than here but could be useful in research. _________________ Ken |

I have used this document this week, helping a lady with some research into a grandfather who served in the Forth Garrison Artillery before going overseas in 1918.
It is a great piece of research. I have contacted Dr Barclay about a missing naval auxiliary hospital and he is adding it to a revised edition.
There may be other missing hospitals too, especially the auxiliary ones set up in country houses for example, which may need to be added to the list.
There is also a handy section on drill halls, split by county.
Cheers
