I spotted a tiny corner of a memorial in a photograph in a back number of Scottish Field. I don't see it mentioned on the forum.
Anyone who's in that part of the world might wish to investigate.

According to this page...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Agricultural_College
The West of Scotland Agricultural College was based in Blythswood Square in Glasgow until 1974, with the farm at Auchincruive in use since 1927.
The memorial now at Auchincruive was probably originally loacted in Glasgow.

I came across this on Google but was unable to open the page. From what it says it suggests it has been moved again. Can anyone open this link?
www.gardeningleave.org/index.php/service-of-remembrance
From what I can see by doing a couple of searches, the summaries on Google says:
Rededication of SAC Great War Memorial. Due to the closure of one of the SAC buildings, we have been fortunate to fall heir a War Memorial Plaque ...A short service of Remembrance was held at Gardening Leave's Auchincruive site conducted by Padre Jim Smith MBE on Friday 8 November 2012. The service was an opportunity for all those connected with Gardening Leave to pay their respects …
From these snippets it looks like Gardening Leave at Auchincruive are now the custodians of the war memorial.

The Gardening Leave website says
Rededication of SAC Great War Memorial
Due to the closure of one of the SAC buildings, we have been fortunate to fall heir a War Memorial Plaque commemorating those students who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars. The rededication was conducted by the Padre and proudly accepted by Gardening Leave from Nick Sparks, the Dean of SAC. Tommy Getgood who was the last SAC staff member to lay a wreath at the Memorial also witnessed the re-dedication and was honoured to lay a wreath during the service alongside veteran John Sharkey. The memorial now takes pride of place within the Balfours Brothers’ Section of the Stovehouse which is very fitting, as our veterans can see it in full display while working in the Stovehouse.
The plaque reads
To the memory of the students
and staff at the
West of Scotland Agricultural College
who gave their lives
in the Great War
1914 – 1918
Then there's a photograph. |

Hi Ken,
Thanks for reminding me on this one. I've posted it on the Ayrshire Other Memorials Forum.
