The Hawick link was that another Hawick man, Robert Purdom, also worked for that firm:
He was employed at Nicholsons, St.Pauls Churchyard, London.
Robert was killed in the war.

Derek, I have a bit of information on my grandfather who was a Hawick man, both some pictures of him with a colleague (maybe when they signed up) and also when he was sent home after a bad injury to his leg.
Do you collect info on Hawick history, if I'm happy to send information to you. |
