Todays Tv news this evening had a story about the ORWELL WAR MEMORIAL in MILNATHORT, Kinross that thieves have forced three Plaques off the war memorial and the fourth one badly damaged . The war memorial had just had £13,000 spent on it for a restoration and now this has happened . Seems that the plaques were "theft Proof " but they removed the plaques with a crowbar

Maybe the newspapers will have reports and hopefully the culprits will be traced and put before a court of law

I wonder if they were ecovered from a field or from a house?
I imagine the press coverage has made them too hot to handle for the thieves.

Seems the thieves (2 Men ) drew up at the scrap metal dealer's yard in East Wemyss with the plaques and he shooed them off before contacting the Police and giving the Police the CCTV pics of the thieves and their transport vehicle ..

Caught! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-23580852

Makes a nice change to have someone prosecuted, i'll hold my breath to see if they are given more than some community service or a paltry fine though.
