Kinning Park Church, 20 Eaglesham Place, Glasgow G51 1PS

OS Grid Ref: NS570645



The church is located at Eaglesham Place (on the former Plantation Street).
Began on 19th November 1978 consequent on the union of Kinning Park with Cessnock and with St Andrew’s Plantation.
Church - In terms of the Basis of Union the congregation worshipped in the former Cessnock Church buildings (Edwin Street) while there was a renovation of Plantation and this became the place of worship of the united congregation in 1989 .The Edwin Street building was destroyed by fire in 1990 and of the constituents, only the present church building remains.

Dugald (Gillies) Wood : Stoker 7684S RNR who lost his life on HMS Indefatigable at the Battle of Jutland 31 May 1916 : aged 35.

Husband of Margaret (Maggie). Father of John (Stuart), Bobby, Dugald, Danny, Jimmy, Mary, Margaret (Peggy) and Davie. He and his family resided in McLellan Street.

My great grandfather.

Do you know what happened to all the original memorials from the churches that merged into this one; are they in storage?
