Memorial: Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

The Dutch minelayer Van Meerlant was decommissioned 14 March 1941 and transferred to the Royal Navy the same day. HMS Van Meerlant was mined in the Thames Estuary 4 June 1941 while serving with the Royal Navy. 3 Officers and 38 men were lost with the ship. (Source: Uboat.net)
