Mitchell, James Lost in S.S. Lusitania Disaster
EVENING TELEGRAPH: 10.05.1915
SCOTTISH PASSENGERS ON BOARD ILL-FATED VESSEL
The fate of Mr J. D. Mitchell, son of Mr and Mrs G. C. Mitchell, is being anxiously awaited by his relatives in Wormit, where he resided previous to leaving for Manchester. Mr Mitchell was in Canada on business, and it is supposed he booked his return voyage on board the Lusitania as a first class saloon passenger. Mrs J. Duncan, Craggan Mhor, Wormit, has received word from her daughter, Mrs Mitchell, that no news has been received from her son, and that Mr Mitchell is to proceed to Queenstown to make further enquiries. |

Harris Academy is being demolished this summer and a new one built on the same site. The school is relocating to Rockwell for the next three years so let`s hope that the memorial will survive downtaking and storage as well as gaining a suitable location in the new school.I`ll post more as i find out(I live next door now!) |
