Having a look online, I came across this:

http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/BusinessBulletins/bb-12-328w.pdf

Go to page 25 and you'll find this:

Quote:
*S4M-04765 Stewart Maxwell: Congratulations to Scottish Military Research
Group—That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Military Research Group on what it considers its important Scottish War Memorial Project and Scottish War Graves Project; notes that the details of over 3,400 war memorials have been recorded and photographs of more than 15,500 war graves in Scotland have been collected; believes that this record of Scotland’s military past will prove invaluable, and urges anyone with information about names on war memorials or about a war grave to contact the Scottish Military Research Group.

This is a fantastic bit of recognition for the hard work which all the volunteers here and on the War Graves Project have carried out in almost six years that the project has been running.

You should all feel justifiably proud of yourselves. Well done.

Wow, that's an amazing piece of recognition. Wonder how it came about, anyone been in contact with him or did he perhaps pick it up from one of the councils? Perhaps Glasgow?

I'll speak to Adam about us sending a letter of thanks to him.

I've no idea how this came about, like you I'd be curious to know more.

Good skills!

Might I suggest a collective pat on the back for a job well done?

That might explain how he came to know about us.

The motion has had a fair amount of support:

Good to see signatories from all four main parties in Scotland.

I have also emailed my MSP, explaining the Group and the projects we do, and asking how we can take the support of this motion forward.

Just had a reply from my MSP Graeme Dey , South Angus MSP . He said that he seems to have missed that motion but he will look at it on Monday when he is back at the Scottish Parliament . He reports too that Ministers are not allowed to sign Motions so thats why First Minister Alex Salmond and Deptuty First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has not signed the Motion ..

Greetings

Ah, that will explain why my MSP has not signed either.

We've been told that the number of signatories the motion has at the moment is a very good amount for a motion.

Great news folks. If anyone does get contacted by their MSP on the back of this please let us know so we make sure we have a co-ordinated response.

Thanks
