This handsome memorial was unveiled on 13th November, 1921. It is built of Creetown granite and cost £750. A fine book has been compiled by J.D. Smith, a retired history teacher, which contains photographs and biographies of many of the names contained on the memorial.

It is called 'Historical Earlston' by J.D. Smith and is privately printed. A small softback, my copy is priced at £2.50. I imagine it is only available from the author, who lives in Earlston, or (perhaps) the local newsagent.

If anyone wants any details from the book I would be happy to do 'look ups'.

Ian

Ian

Do you have images of the other inscriptions?

Yes, I'm not sure how readable they will be. But I'll post them anyway!
