71st (Forth) Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.A. (T.A.)
HQ, 227th, 229th (Fife) Btys: Dunfermline
71st Heavy AA Regiment served under command of 36th Anti-Aircraft Brigade in the Edinburgh-Forth area at the outbreak of war and was still under command in Feburary 1941. The regiment was probably the first AA regiment to fire at the enemy when it opened up on German planes attacking the Forth Bridge on 16 October 1939. _________________ Ken |
