Robert Campbell Wright, was, from the stories ive been told a p.o.w who was on the run for 7 days before he was picked up an returned to a camp. i think he was a gordon highlander. i dont have an army number for him, so my question is where do i start to look for info on him? any help would be great thanks in advance.

Ancestry has POW lists online. There is only one man named Wright listed in the Gordon Highlanders, and I don't think it's your man:

Thanks Anne, and David. I think your right David, i doubt hes my uncle. The reason i dont know very much about him is he wouldnt talk about where he was or what he had done, when he died and were going through his papers etc there wasnt any army paperwork but we have a pic of him at about 18 in his uniform.

As you say it's usual for vets not want to talk about their service you could maybe get a researcher to find out more.
Ogilby Trust has some info which you might find of use.

The picture is only the size of a postcard ive tried scanning and enlarging it but no joy it just goes all fuzzy, this is the only picture ive got of my uncle in uniform, as i said before he never spoke about what he went through or what happened to him, ive no idea why i can only guess he wanted to forget.
