Having just done a search for appropriate female casualties on the RMS Lady Hawkins I discovered the following casualties with a Scottish connection and thought that they might be of interest. Lady Hawkins was torpedoed and sunk off the North East coast of America on 19th January 1942 en-route from Montreal, Canada to Bermuda.

ATKINS, Florence Mary: Daughter of Beata Mary Atkins, of 1 Dirleton Avenue, Glasgow, and of the late Reginald Atkins.

GATT, Carman C.: of 49 Barrachnie Crescent, Garrowhill, Glasgow. Daughter of the late James and Antonia Gatt.

LOGAN, Janie Elizabeth: of Roathpark, Hill View Drive, Clarkston, Glasgow. – Her Husband Gavin Ralston Logan died when the S.S. Baron Ailsa was mined off Cromer 17th February 1940. Both commemorated on Williamswood Parish Church Lectern Memorial (Do not confuse with SS Baron Ailsa sunk in 1918)

REID, Alice Maud: Daughter of Alice Maud Reid, of 90 Kellock Avenue, Old Monkland, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, and of the late Henry Sharp Reid. Commemorated on Coatbridge Civic WM & Dunbeth Church, Coatbridge.

TRAILL, Mrs.: Wife of John Traill, of 4 Warrender Park Crescent, Edinburgh. Also her husband John J. and two sons John J. & Fraser F.

Other than the Traills there were no other Scottish males indicated.

Tony
