Some Forum members may already have seen this request elsewhere.
A local man who is providing very helpful information for our Coupar Angus book is searching for any information about his father. He was based at Redford Barracks in 1943 and said that his name was "Dixie" Dean(s) from Rochdale. He was allegedly drowned in early 1944 whilst training in the run up to DDay.
Can anyone help me find out which regiments were based at Redford in 1943? Does anyone know of drowning incidents other than Tiger in the run up to DDay?
The information which he gave may of course be completely bogus but it`s worth a try!
Any help/pointers welcomed!

I think he's going to have to dig out his own birth certificate to get his father's proper names. Then a look up in Scotlandspeople, or more likely, on Free BMD should find the death. _________________ Ken |
