I dont want to walk over colleagues on this topic but I thought that maybe Mark had not seen the write up in the Craigie in the Courier & Advertiser of Saturday 14th May 2011 ) page 14.

REMEMBERING WAR DEAD OF COUPAR ANGUS :

I am told that Mark Duffy , author of the book on Blairgowrie's War Dead , is collaborating with Hugh Macrae of Coupar Angus in producing a book /CD to commemorate those who died in both wars and who had a connection with Coupar Angus.

Coupar Angus is unusal in not having a civic memorial to those who died so the booklet will bring together details of those commemorated onthe School Memorial and the Abbey Church Memorials as well as others who were perhaps omitted for some reason , who are buried here or who hve some sort of connection to Coupar Angus and its surroundings.

Mark and Hugh are looking for any personal information that anyone may have about family members who died in the wars - family background , education and employment , war service, war diaries , telegrams , medals and citations , letters home , obituaries etc.

They promise to respect all materials and return them to their owners once the information has been copied or photographed and families will also receive a draft text for comment before publication.

Any other information on life or activities during the wars - both about those who served and survived and those who remained at home - will also be gratefully received and details passed onto Coupar Angus and District Heritage Association for historical record as appropriate .

Anyone who has such information or material and is willing to participate should contact Hugh Macrae in the first instance on 01828 627514 or 07843 491803 or email : hugh.dalblair1@02.co

...............
hope this is of interest
